INNOPRENE 1000,2000 Series

We have developed thermoplastic rubber, innoprene, which has the elasticity of thermosetting rubber and the compatibility of thermoplastic based on our 20 year’s experience in the production and the research technology of EP rubber.
Overview
Various innoprene products supplied by Kumho Polychem Co.,Ltd. are thermoplastic elastomers of polyolefin type, and they can replace the existing thermosetting products of EP(D)M or CR rubber. The material is also able to replace soft PVC that is recently being discussed for its environmental problems. Moreover, the material is of low weight, therefore it is possible to develop light-weighted products.
Innoprene is a product that is already completely cross-linked and there is no need for an extra cross-link process before its ultimate use. Also, it is possible to simplify the processes and reduce the prime cost as it is an environment-friendly material allowing for an easy recycle of scraps resulted from processing.
Innoprene is possible to mold using devices of extrusion molding, injection molding, blow molding and calendar processing as in normal plastic resin. Especially, it is among the new materials that are possible to apply in extrusion area. (automobile glass run channel and construction window gasket etc)

Recycle

Innoprene as thermoplastic rubber has advantage that the scrap can be recycled.

When the scrap is recycled and processed, there is no large influence on the nature of the material.

The proportion of recycle is limited at 80% to minimize problems for processing.

Storage and handling
Innoprene is manufactured as pellet for supply, and it is easy to store and handle.
Innoprene is a substance that absorbs moist well; therefore the moist in surrounding area may substantially be absorbed. Innoprene exposed to moist will have its surface not smooth and the overall physical ability will be lowered. So, Innoprene needs to be dried enough for 2~3 hours at 80~90℃ before processing.
